No me embrujes, amor
NO ME EMBRUJES, AMOR is a creative proposal that addresses and questions, from a contemporary perspective, the most universal themes and plots embodied in Manuel de Falla’s El Amor Brujo. It also pays tribute to the woman who wrote the libretto for the work, María de la O Lejárraga. Due to sociopolitical reasons at the time, the writer had to sign it in the name of her husband, Gregorio Martínez Sierra. Finally, NO ME EMBRUJES, AMOR is a reworking of Manuel de Falla’s musical universe, replete with ancestral modes and rhythms from southern Spain.
What other mysteries are hidden behind the notes and lyrics of El Amor Brujo? NO ME EMBRUJES, AMOR is an invitation to discover them.
