Tenora & Big Band

The tenora is the traditional catalan shawm, a tenor oboe with a beautiful timbre. The project “Tenora & Big Band” combines the ethnical, melodic and unique sound of the tenora with the modern, rhythmical and universal sound of the big band, the jazz orchestra. The repertoire is based on the traditional catalan songs, called “sardana”, written by classic authors as Pau Casals, M. S. Puigferrer, Joaquim Serra o Joan Manén, revisited by the expert hand (bilingual in catalan and jazz languages) of Esteve Molero. The project is open to any big band willing to discover a world of fascinating colors, rhythms and melodies.
